We arrived at the port in Cozumel at 10:00 a.m. We were the first in line to get off of the ship. We played Uno Flip while we waited for permission to disembark. One of the crew members had not seen Uno Flip before and watched us play so she could learn about it.

Annette had purchased an excursion package for us to visit the Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park. The excursion included the park entrance fee, a lunch buffet, and snorkel gear for everyone.

After we arrived at the beach, we found some beach chairs under a couple of grass roof shades. Everyone got ready to go swimming. We checked out snorkel gear (mask, snorkel, and flippers) from a rental company. Some of us also checked out life jackets. Then we ventured to the water.

The water was crystal clear and COLDER than expected.
The underwater view was fantastic. Looking at the reef and fish underwater through a mask was one of the highlights of the entire cruise. Unfortunately, we do not own an underwater camera so I cannot share our own photos.
The boys swam out to a raft about 300 yards off the shore. It was anchored to the seafloor with a couple of cables. Some of them also dived down to touch a statue on the seafloor.
After swimming for a while and looking at the fish, everyone got out of the water to eat beans and rice from the lunch buffet.
