Jasperson Jabbers

While we were in Florida going to graduate school, we decided we wanted to start a family newsletter to use for communicating with our extended family in Wyoming. So, we started the "Jasperson Jabbers" newsletter.

The first issue was published on March 5, 1995 (see image below). We started this family tradition with the following introductory note.
Welcome to the first issue of Jasperson Jabbers. We think of our family members often and we want to keep in touch with y'all. We are working really hard on our southern accents and our tans. Actually life is not too much different here in the South.

We have had a great winter and are enjoying the wonderful colors of spring in the sun. The magnolia trees are all in bloom and so are many other flowers and trees.

School is going wonderful for `Jon. He is 40% done with his course work. He will be teaching a course this summer in addition to taking three courses. Needless to say, he will be very busy.
While we lived in Florida, we published this newsletter once each month. (We May have missed a few months but were relatively consistent.) In addition, we launched the Call Home! newsletter for the Michel Call family newsletter and Ranch Report for the Bryce Jasperson family newsletter. We published the latter two newsletters once each month.

After we moved to Oklahoma, we slowed publication of Jasperson Jabbers to once each year at Christmas. We continue this tradition today by publishing our annual Christmas newsletter as the next issue of Jasperson Jabbers.

The Call Home! and Ranch Report newsletters eventually dropped out of publication and circulation. For a while, we passed editorship of Call Home! among Annette's siblings. Then, it was discontinued for a couple of years and relaunched as an online newsletter in a couple of years ago.
