When Annette and I were first married, Annette tried a few new meals using recipes from the Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book we received as a wedding gift.
Shortly after we moved to our apartment on 15th South in Orem, Annette decided to make a new dish called "Carrot-Rice Casserole."

I do not remember all we had for dinner that night. Most likely, it was water to drink and the casserole. We did not need any veggies on the side because the casserole had carrots in it.
We sat down to eat, said a brief prayer, held hands for "frühlich sei," and dished our plates. We each ate a few bites of the casserole. I commented to Annette about how good it tasted. She agreed that it was good. After we finished our first helping, Annette asked if I wanted any more. I politely declined. Annette said she did not want anymore either.
As we begin to clean up the table and do the dishes, we both finally admitted that the casserole was not very tasty. It was so bad that we even threw away the rest of the casserole.
