When Allyn was about 4 years old, Annette and I decided to eat out for dinner one evening. At the time, one of our favorite places to eat was Olive Garden.
After the hostess seated us at a table, we got the kids (Jamie, Tanner, Allyn, and Jason) settled in seats (and high chairs) around the table. The wait staff came by and took our order. Then they brought a bowl of salad, fresh breadsticks, and plates. While Annette and I were handing the plates to Jamie and Tanner, Allyn grabbed her fork and speared an olive from the salad bowl.
While the salad bowl was near Allyn, the only way she could reach the olive was to stand on her chair. After she speared the olive, she stood up on the chair waving her fork in the air and loudly (and proudly) proclaimed, "I got the olive!"
