I remember our first date. I was so excited when I saw you at Pizza Hut that night in January 1989. I had been to the Pee Wee Wrestling Tournament at the high school to watch Levi and Raliegh wrestle. Kris invited me to come to Pizza Hut with her and the kids after it was over (I believe Mom, Keri, and Cade were also with us.)
You looked so cute when you came to wait at our table. You were also quite daring with the flirtatious conversation you and I exchanged. I had only been home from my mission for a few days and was not yet used to having conversations with girls again! How fun for me when you accepted my invitation to give me your phone number. I couldn’t wait to have a date with you.
I was very nervous on the night of our first date. I really liked you and wanted everything to be just right for the date so you would like me. I remember choosing a tape of classical music to have the proper background while we were driving. I remember you sat very close to me on the couch and held my hand while we watched a movie with my family. I was completely and totally in love with you. I knew then that you were the one to be my wife. I prayed that you would feel the same way.You were so brave to watch a movie with me and the whole family on the first date. I thought you might be scared away! Thankfully, you were not scared and agreed to a second date.
