Birthday to Remember -- Addison

When Addison was four years old, Grandma and Grandpa Tueller came to visit us in the spring of the year. While they were visiting, they took Annette and Addison to lunch at Texas Roadhouse.

When it came time for Addison's birthday breakfast date with Dad, she insisted that her favorite restaurant was Texas Roadhouse even though it is not open for breakfast. So, I agreed to take Addison on a birthday dinner date instead of a birthday breakfast date.

After we were seated, we told our server that we were there for a birthday date. The server asked Addison if she wanted the kid's birthday special. Addison agreed.

We had a nice dinner. I enjoyed talking to Addison about what was happening in her life at the time. We talked about whether she was ready and excited to go to school in the upcoming school year.

Addi ate the kid's meal that included chicken strips with mashed potatoes. However, she liked the Texas Roadhouse rolls the best!

After our dinner, the server brought a stool to our table that had a kids size saddle mounted on the stool as the seat. They placed Addison in the saddle and gave her two conical shaped cups to put in her mouth to make a beak. They also gave her styrofoam containers to flap for wings. Then they asked her to act like a chicken. The server called a number of other servers to our table and the servers gave a bit Yeee Haw shout for her birthday.

I recorded a video on my phone. I tried to switch from portrait to landscape mode in the middle of the video. However, the phone did not change orientation. So the video below shows sideways for part of the clip.

It is so much fun to remember Addison's youthful innocence and joy for the attention she received.
