I Love You Squeezes

When Annette and I were engaged, we were writing love notes on each other's palm by tracing out the letters of words. It was a fun, cute thing to do. One of us then gave the other three squeezes while saying the words, "I Love You" aloud (one squeeze for each word). That was the beginning of a tradition we have kept our entire marriage and shared with our kids. When we are holding hands, we send silent love messages by squeezing the hand three times. Sometimes, we might respond to a three squeeze sequence with a four squeeze sequence back to say "I love you, too!"

I do not remember which of us initiated the "I love you" squeeze. But it sure is a fun tradition in our marriage. As a reminder of our love, I am including some pictures from our wedding day of us holding hands.
