20th Anniversary Memory - Long Distance Dating

During the Winter 1990 semester, I went home to Star Valley to run the ranch and drive the school bus for Dad while he worked away from home on a sheep shearing crew. You stayed at BYU. I drove to Provo as often as I could to visit you. We talked for long hours on the phone. We exchanged cards and letters via “snail” mail. (Can you imagine … email was not widely used “WAY” back then!)

On one trip I made to Provo, we went to Smith’s and bought a windup alarm clock. Then we spent the night sleeping in the car in the Harmon Center parking lot. Were we crazy or what? Can you imagine if our kids did something like that!
