After a Saturday afternoon visit to the library while we were pregnant with Tate, Annette was starving and asked to stop at the Popeyes that used to be right next door to the library by ExxonMobil.
When we pulled up to the drive-thru window, the lady at the window told us that their credit card reader was not working. So, we could only pay cash.
Unfotunately, neither Annette nor I had any cash in our wallets. But, we found three quarters in the ashtray of the van. I handed the lady the three quarters and said, "My wife is pregnant and is craving french fries. Please give us as many french fries as 75¢ can buy."
She replied, "Let me talk to my manager and see what we can do."
She returned with a heaping helping of french fries in a "to go" bag and told us she understood that when a pregnant lady wanted something to eat, she needed it NOW!
We are still grateful for the generosity and sympaty of the lady at the Popeyes drive-thru.
