You will notice we did not give middle names to any of our daughters. We felt that each daughter would want to have Jasperson as a "middle" name after she gets married. So, we did not give a middle name to any of our three girls.
Child #1 - Jamie Jasperson
Like most parents, we had discussed several potential names after we learned that we were pregnant. We had selected both a girl's name and a boy's name as our "chosen" names before Jamie was born. However, after our first baby was born and we had a few minutes alone, Annette and I both agreed that the girl's name we chose in advance did not fit the baby. We also both agreed that we should name the baby Jamie. So, you could say Jamie's name was chosen at the last minute.
Child #2 - Tanner Bryce Jasperson
Tanner is indirectly named after N. Eldon Tanner (a former member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
Annette and I were students at Brigham Young University (BYU) when we were pregnant with our first two children. I was a student at the Marriott School of Management. The N. Eldon Tanner Building (TNRB) at BYU is the building that houses the Marriott School. Most of my classes the last three years at BYU were in the Tanner Building. Child #3 - Allyn Jasperson
In December 1996, Annette and I traveled to Nauvoo, Illinois for the first time in our married life. While walking around Nauvoo, we saw a store called the Allyn House. Allyn is an alternate spelling of Allen used as a last name. Annette and I both liked the name and decided it would be a fun name for our daughter. We pronounce the name like "uh lyn". It is also fun that my middle name is Lynn. So I can share that name similarity with Allyn.

Child #4 - Jason Michel Jasperson
Jason is a name that Annette and I liked. We chose it for our fourth child.
Jason's middle name comes from the first name of my Annette's father Michel L Call. We use the anglicized pronunciation like "Michael" instead of the French pronunciation like "Michelle".

Child #5 - Truman Sean Jasperson
When we were pregnant with Truman, Jamie and Tanner noticed that the first letter of the first name for the children in our family were "J", "T", "A", and "J". They started talking about the next child having a first initial of "T" to continue the "pattern".
In Norman, Oklahoma, the elementary schools were named after US Presidents. Jamie attended Grover Cleveland Elementary when we lived in an apartment before we built our house. Jamie, Tanner, Ally, and Jason attended Theodore Roosevelt Elementary. Several kids in our ward attended Harry S. Truman Elementary. So, our kids were quite familiar with Truman Elementary. They suggested we use "Truman" as a boy name to continue the "T" pattern.
Annette and I both liked that suggestion. So we named Truman after Truman Elementary or indirectly Harry S. Truman.
Truman's middle name is the Irish spelling for my first name...Sean.
Child #6 - Ashton Lynn Jasperson
Because we committed to the J, T, A pattern when Truman was born, we needed an "A" name for baby #6. Ashton is a name that Annette and I both liked. We like Ashton because of Marvin J Ashton, (a former member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
Ashton's middle name is the same middle name as my middle name.

Child #7 - Tate Charles Jasperson
When Annette and I were pregnant with Tanner, one of my BYU professors (Eric Denna, and his wife Lyn) asked us if we would stay in their home and watch their kids while they traveled to Hawaii for one week. Eric and Lyn had a child named Tate that we watched. We both liked that name and chose to give that name to Child #7.

Child #8 - Addison Jasperson
We did not follow the J, T, A sequence pattern when we chose Tate's name. But for Addison, we wanted to have either a J, T, or A name. Our chosen girl name when we were pregnant with some of the boys was Addison.
We did not learn the sex of the first 7 children until they were born. With Baby #8, we were quite sure it would be our last baby. So, we decided that we would learn the sex of Baby #8 before it was born. After we learned it would be a girl, Annette and I decided we would name her Addison.
