Allyn did not like to take naps when she was a toddler and preschooler. When it was nap time, we would put her in her bedroom and she would scream and cry. When she got old enough, she would get out of bed, open the door to the bedroom, and come out of her room.
Annette and I would use a rope to tie the door handle from her bedroom to the door handle of the hall closet so that she could not open her bedroom door. We had to do this for naptime and for bedtime. I think Allyn spend most of her sleeping time on the floor from age 3 to 5 because she would not stay in her bed. She would lay on the floor by the door and cry for a while before going to sleep.
