20th Anniversary Memory - Sleeping on the Couch

One night while we lived in Norman, we were getting ready for bed and had a minor disagreement. I do not remember the topic of the disagreement. But for some reason, I chose to be offended by something you said or did. We finished getting ready for bed. You got into bed. I went to the living room and slept on the couch to “show you” I was upset.

I was expecting you to come in to get me. However, you never came. I slept the whole night on the couch, tossing and turning in discomfort from the couch and my bad feelings. You, on the other hand, slept peacefully in our bed, blissfully unaware I was on the couch. I finally humbled myself, got up, and came to the bedroom to apologize for sleeping on the couch.

After you awakened and listened to my apology, you informed me that you had not even known I was on the couch or that I was upset. Needless to say, I felt chagrined at my pettiness!
