I remember giving you a book of love coupons as a gift. One coupon you redeemed was to select a letter of the alphabet for me to use as a theme for a future date. You choose the letter “A”. We picked the following Friday as the day for our “A” date. I had so much fun planning that date. The instructions were that I was supposed to plan a date filled with things starting with the letter “A.”
I planned a dinner-at-home date. I picked the alphabet as one of my “A” words for the date. I hid little notes throughout the house for each letter of the alphabet. I had 26 notes (one for each letter of the alphabet) with the first word from each note starting with a different letter. I had tons of fun thinking up sappy, cute little sayings for the notes around the ABC idea. I am pretty sure we had asparagus and au gratin potatoes for dinner. Did we have applesauce for dessert? It seems like there should have been a meat dish as well, but I cannot remember what it might have been.
I went to a local florist to have flowers sent to you on the day of the date. I told the sales clerk about our “A” date and asked that she create an arrangement using the flowers starting with “A.” I was surprised when the flowers arrived to see she had taken her assignment seriously. The flowers were accompanied by a note that read, “Alstroemeria artfully arranged as always!”
I frequently think back on this date with fond memories. I love you!
